The Kasbah
Rabat is the imperial and administrative capital city of Morocco. Here you'll pass peaceful afternoons in the shade in the city's gardens, the most beautiful of which can be found behind the gates of the "nécropole du Chellah", just outside the centre of town.
Scented jasmine, coloured hibiscus, this paradise is lived in all year round by storks and herons.
Capture the magic of the "Oudaya Casbah" on top of the hill, between the sea and the médina. In the Casbah there are many places to take in the beautiful view of the bay and the town of Salé, which lies across the Oued.
The Casbah is like a stone fortress opening up onto a beautiful Andalou garden and one of the most pleasant places to relax, the "Café Maure".
It's here that you'll come to sip mint tea and to taste a "gazelle's horn", a regional speciality, while waiting for the sunset which sets the sky and the landscape alight every evening.
Living in the medina allows you to discover, for yourself, the culture and real Moroccan way of life. The contact with the population is always very friendly and sincere and the médina is completely safe. There are no doubtful guides in Rabat. The city regularly receives foreigners and in particularly the personnel of the embassies.
